Getting Kande from Pokhara is not that hard.  You can find public buses and also you can ask with travel agents or hotels to arrange taxi/ tourist car for you.

Itinerary for Mardi Himal Trek

Here is the itinerary for you, if you are planning from your home country.  If you are anywhere in Nepal and struggling to plan for Mardi Himal Trek then this itinerary definitely helps you to make your trek successful.

Day 1:  Arrival at International Airport, Kathmandu.  Get into hotel and take a rest.

Day 2:  Visit to Pashupatinath Temple, which opens at 4 am in the morning.  It has a religious, cultural and historical importance across Nepal.  You will love the spiritual experience there.  You can do sightseeing around Kathmandu and in the evening, you can visit around Thamel.

Day 3:  In the morning, take either flight/bus/car to get into Pokhara.  Flight takes about thirty  minutes while Bus/Car takes more than five hours.  Finalize the hotel and do sightseeing around Pokhara. In the evening, visit around Lakeside and check the trekking store if you need anything for tomorrow’s Mardi Himal Trek.

Day 4:  Ask your hotel to arrange car up to Kande.  Kande is about one and half hour away from Pokhara.  From Kande, you will start your trek.  Followed by Australian Camp, Pothana; you will stay overnight at Deurali(2200m). It takes 3-4 hours to reach Deurali from Kande.

Day 5:  From Deurali, you will now walk through the dense forest full of rhododendron, mountain oak, maple and hemlock.  It takes about four hours to reach Forest Camp(2450m), where you will be spending the night.

Day 6: Today, you are heading to Low Camp(3000m) which takes about 3-4 hours.  You will see more rhododendrons.  You will stay overnight at Low Camp.

Day 7: From Low Camp, you will now walk along Badal Danda that offers the amazing view of Himalaya’s. Walking through narrow hilltop and grassy path, you will now reach High Camp(3585m).  You will be surprised to see the beautiful view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre.

Day 8: Today, you will head to Mardi Himal Base Camp(4500m) and enjoy the Annapurna Sanctuary. You will spend your night in the beautiful High Camp.

Day 9: You will be heading to Siding and then finally to Pokhara.  Siding is a beautiful village which is popular for its culture and the warm hospitality.  You can have your lunch at Siding and then catch the vehicle going back to Pokhara.  Enjoy your night at Pokhara.

Day 10: You can depart to Kathmandu either on a flight or vehicles.

Can I travel myself or Do I need to hire guide for Mardi Himal Trek?

Yes, you can travel by yourself as well.  You will not have problem finding the route. But I suggest you to find a good trekking company and join with the guide. There is a risk of high altitude and unpredictable weather.  It is always a wise decision to have someone who knows the location very well.

Do we need permits for Mardi Himal Trek?

Yes, For the foreign nationals they are required to have a TIMS(Trekkers’ Information Management System) Card and ACAP(Annapurna Conservation Area Project) permit.

What are the packing list for Mardi Himal Trek?
