Kapuche Trek is a new trekking trail, which is getting very popular nowadays.  Kapuche Lake is the lowest altitude glacier lake in the world.  It is located in the Annapurna region and offers an astonishing view of Annapurna Himalaya.  Since it is a lowest altitude trek (2546m), it is perfect for every age group.  The trail goes through villages, terrace field, beautiful green forest and the rhododendron trees. It is a perfect trek if you are looking to visit lowest glacier lake and also if you want to experience the village lifestyle.

This trek starts from Sikles, which is four hour’s drive from Pokhara.  Since Sikles is a popular Gurung village, it is full of rich culture. It is is situated above Madi Khola at an altitude of 1981m.

How travelling became your passion, could you please share that with us?

I am very fond of culture, adventure, scenery, people, and food. I can find them only if I travel around and slowly, it turned out to be my passion.

How did you hear about Kapuche Lake?

Infact, I was wondering around Lakeside one evening and I met few foreigner’s who has been there.  That was the first time I heard about Kapuche Lake from them.

Can you please say something about Kapuche Trek?

Kapuche Trek is the short and adventurous trekking trail in the Annapurna region.  The trek starts from Sikles.  You can see the glacial lake, which is considered the lowest glacier lake (2546m) in the world.

How many days are required for this trek?

4 days would be enough.

What is the difficulty level of Kapuche Trek? 

The difficulty level is easy to moderate.  Any age group can overcome this trail easily. 

Do we need any kind of training for this trek?

No, you don’t need any training but you need to be physically fit.

Which is the best time to go on Kapuche Trek?

February- June and also September- December is the perfect time to go on this trek.

Is there any hotel available on this trail? 

Yes, there are few guest houses and also, there is home stay available on this trail.

Is permit necessary for this trail?

Yes, For the foreign nationals they need to have TIMS Card and ACAP Permit.

Can you please say something about the itinerary of Kapuche Trek?

Sure, here is the itinerary for Kapuche Trek:

DAY 1-  Pokhara to Sikles through vehicle.  Sikles provides breathtaking, close-up view of the Annapurna Range.  Overnight at Sikles.

DAY 2-  Trek to Hugu Goth (5-6hrs) from Sikles.  Overnight at Hugu Goth(2100m).

DAY 3-  Trek to Kapuche lake (2hrs) from Hugu Goth and explore more as you can.  Back to Hugu Goth for overnight .

DAY 4-  Trek to Siklesh (5-6hrs) either overstay or back to Pokhara.

What are the packing lists for Kapuche trek?

The packing list should include the following things:
