How can I travel around Kathmandu?

Kathmandu is a city full of surprises. I would preferably say a, mixed bag, where you find everything.  It’s a beautiful city surrounded with Nature, Industry, Technology, History, Culture, Civilization and many more.  This sounds amazing for the travelers, where they can see and learn the core value of nation through one city.

Sajha Yatayat; A public Vehicle is operating in Kathmandu, which has a long history in Nepal.

Let’s imagine, you are in Kathmandu and you are looking for options to visit around.

As we discussed about finding hotel on our last article, you might be familiar about taxi services.  You can find taxi anywhere or you can ask your hotel reception to arrange taxi/cab service for you.  This is the best option; I would say and is a safest one as well.

If you have an international license then you can also hire Motorbike or Scooter.  Similarly, you can hire Cycle as well.  If you do so, you don’t need to depend on other, which means you can exercise freedom wherever you go.  But, there is a risk of getting into wrong directions as there is no one to guide you.

Public vehicles are the other options, which you can find easily.  If you gather information about local areas then I think it would be the safest as well as cheapest option for the travellers to visit around.

So; based on your situation, choose an option and visit every corner in Kathmandu.

Umm; don’t forget to buy a sim card for your mobile when you arrived International Airport.  This will help you to contact your nearby and most importantly, you can get access to internet on your mobile.

There are mobile applications like E-Sewa, Tootle, Pathao, OYO; which will definitely help your mobility.  E-Sewa is the mobile wallet functioning across Nepal just like PayPal.  Tootle and Pathao are the ride sharing applications, where you can book for ride and reach the destination.  They are fully functional in Kathmandu right now.  OYO is the hotel booking application that helps you book the hotel room across Nepal.  And, don’t forget to save the number of Police Helpline .i.e. 100.

So, these are the options that are available to you if you have to visit around Kathmandu.  There is no doubt, if you find any option by yourself then it definitely costs lower than finding through agents.

So, choose wisely; visit Kathmandu.

I hope there is no any confusion left but if there is, please let me know.
