New skills are very important to empower the local communities.  You can support the locals by suggesting new skill, whether be it with daily lifestyle, agriculture, business and many more. 

4. Stay at locally owned accommodations

This is a good opportunity to engage with many locals in the community.  This helps you learn cultures, language, customs and traditions of that particular society.  In return, you help the local’s generate an extra income.
