What exactly is Annapurna Circuit Trek?

Annapurna Circuit Trek is a complete mix bag, where you will find the blend of everything; the people, place, culture, and many more. Passing through the beautiful villages and the Thorongla Pass 5416m in height, you will be surprised to see the drastic change in the climate, culture, and landscape. Generally, it takes about 16-17 days to complete this trek. This trek brings you very close to the local people as well.  You will be surprised and inspired at the same time with their warm hospitality and simple lifestyle.

When is the best time to go for this Trek?

Since June-July is the monsoon season, it would be good if you avoid this month. September – October – November is the best time to go for the Annapurna Circuit Trek. There is no risk of extensive snow as well.  

What is the itinerary for Annapurna Circuit Trek?

Day 1-  Kathmandu to BhulBhule (8-9 hours drive)

Day 2-  BhulBhule to Jagat Village (6-7 hours walk)

Day 3-  Jagat Village to Dharapani (5-6 hours walk)

Day 4-  Dharapani to Chame (6-7 hours walk)

Day 5-  Chame to Pisang (5-6 hours walk)

Day 6-  Pisang to Manang (6-7 hours walk)

Day 7-  Rest and Acclimatization day at Manang

Day 8-  Manang to Yak Kharka (4-5 hours walk)

Day 9-  Yak Kharka to ThorongFedi (5-6 hours walk)

Day 10-Thorong Fedi to Muktinath (9-10 hours walk)

Day 11- Drive from Muktinath to Tatopani

Day 12- Tatopani to Ghorepani (7-8 hours walk)

Day 13- Ghorepani- Poonhill- Birethanti- Nayapool-Pokhara

Day 14- Drive or Get a flight to Kathmandu

What should be the level of fitness to trek Annapurna Circuit Trek?

Annapurna Circuit Trek is physically demanding. Therefore, you should be physically fit. Also, it is a moderate trek; it is not necessary to have any technical knowledge for climbing.

What about Altitude Sickness?

This trek has a chance of Altitude Sickness. Therefore, you should stay hydrated and trek slowly. You should also take the rest day very seriously. It is better to avoid alcohol, smoke during the trek. If any symptoms persist, please inform your trekking guide.  

Can I hike the Annapurna circuit by myself? 

Yes, you can. It depends on your choice. There is no restriction regarding the size.

Is it mandatory to have any kind of permit for the Annapurna Circuit?

Yes, it is necessary to have TIMS and ACAP Permit to go for Annapurna Circuit Trekking. If you are going through a trekking company, then they will manage that for you. 

What is the accommodation like in the Annapurna Circuit?

You will find simple accommodation however it’s very worth it. As the altitude increases, the lodging becomes very basic. 

Do we need to carry a medical kit for Annapurna Circuit Trek?

Yes, it is always a good idea to brace for unforeseen circumstances. Not only Annapurna Circuit, but you should also carry it for every hiking.

Is it necessary to have insurance?

Yes, it is very mandatory to have insurance while trekking.

Can I find ATM easily during this trek?

No, you will not find an ATM until you reach Jomsom. So, be prepared with enough cash in your pocket.

Can I go on a trek by myself?

Though you can, it will be risk-free if you go along with a guide from the registered company.
